The Big Canyon Ranch is a diverse hunting and recreational property that offers lots of terrain changes, huge viewpoints of the canyons and draws below, thick mesquite areas, several grassy flats, and a ready to go cultivated food plot. The tracts layout actually gives hunters the ability to hunt and view wildlife from each side and several areas from above the huge draw that winds through the entire property.
This allows options to hunt the same areas of the ranch, but doing so from different elevated spots while not having to look into to sun such as normally you do if you hunt the same areas both morning and evening. Near the West boundary there is a large mesquite flat that also has lots of thick grass and a lot of wildlife tend to bed in this area and then travel the draws and ravines toward the wheat fields during the winter months.
Along this huge canyon that traverses the ranch, there are countless areas to put tower blinds to get a long view of the valleys below as well as the food plot on the top part of the ranch. Also, there are many places with tons of runoff water to build ponds on the edges of the canyons or there is a great potential lake site through the mid to upper parts of the main draw.
Several of the neighboring tracts have done this in the same soil types and it has proven well for them. Also, the layer of woods between the flat cultivated areas and the lower canyons is an outstanding place to quail and dove hunt.
Both species of these game birds are very common to see in these areas and with the layout of the canyons, there are hours of hunting enjoyment found here! Because of the diverse terrain of this ranch, it is also great for four-wheeling and or hiking and exploring.
