The Baylor Mountain Ranch is an exceptional property that offers fantastic hunting and lots of recreation. The location of the property is key, being very private with no road exposure, joining large ranches on three sides, and live water Miller Creek runs directly across the tract. The rolling and elevated terrain of the two native pastures offer big views of the surrounding countryside and this area of Baylor County is known for producing trophy whitetail as well as outstanding quail and turkey hunting. The layout of the property is very nice also, with very large hills or small “mountains” on the north and south end of the tract and a 100 acre food plot dead in the middle. This food plot acts as a game magnet in the winter months and it is common to see over 100 whitetails grazing it at daylight and just before dark. Also, the turkey and wild hogs utilize the field tremendously. The vegetation of Baylor Mountain Ranch primarily consists of older “bull” mesquite thickets with scattered hackberry thickets throughout the ranch, especially in the lower areas and lining Miller Creek. In the native pastures on both ends of the property there are two ponds each that provide water for wildlife and livestock. These ponds were built to catch runoff from the draws and a couple of them would also be great for fishing. Waterfowl hunting is also great on these ponds in the winter months. One of the best features of the property is having a live water creek. Miller Creek is a feeder creek to the nearby Brazos River and the creek crosses the tract from west to east, providing year round water to the ranch. Wildlife frequent this area of the ranch because of this feature and the creek also offers fishing for year round sport! There is an awesome area for a camp with great views just inside the entrance of the property.
