The Hunt Ranch is an excellent combination ranch located in big deer country and also offers productive grass grazing land with exceptional quail and dove hunting. The ranch is primarily rolling with some more dramatic elevation changes in areas with a heavily wooded creek winding through it that is lined with hackberry, mulberry trees, and other hardwoods. Large numbers of wildlife live along this creek in the brush and are found venturing out in the more open areas in the winter months. Six ponds provide water for wildlife and cattle as well as fishing opportunities. The creek has several pools of water that also attract wildlife and the larger hardwoods are great for bow hunting and turkey roosts. There are some areas with large mesquite thickets and tall grasses that offer excellent canopy for quail and bedding for other wildlife. The Hunt Ranch is very private with only end of road access to two areas of the ranch and no road exposure. The heart of the ranch that surrounds the creek bottom area is a thick cedar and mesquite blend, providing ample cover. Anywhere in the grass fields that surround the rougher pasture land, a good size food plot could be implemented to maintain more wildlife on the ranch. Near the old homestead, is a great cabin site with elevation overlooking the lower thick areas of the ranch. Electricity is already installed at this site.
